The letter is signed by some of the nation’s major businesses like Bloomberg LP, The Permanente Medical Team, Levi Strauss (LEVI), Dick’s Sporting Items, Lyft and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The letter also notes the economic toll that gun violence requires.
“At a time when our economic system is battling to get well from the Covid-19 pandemic, gun violence fees American taxpayers, businesses and communities a staggering $280 billion for each yr. Companies eliminate $1.4 million each individual day in efficiency and earnings, and charges linked with victims of gun violence,” the letter reported.
Gun control advocacy groups, which includes Everytown for Gun Security and Moms Desire Action and Students Demand Action, applauded the letter.
