MLM Mompreneurs – Secrets of Success For Stay at Home Moms in Network Marketing

Stay at home moms face unique challenges when building a network marketing business. In this article, I will provide priceless tips that will increase your success in your business and decrease the amount of stress that can be present when managing a household and a business.

Set Goals

You can’t run a race without knowing where the finish line is, and you can’t build a successful business without knowing what you want to accomplish. As a mom in network marketing, you may have goals for your business that are not only focused on money but probably time with your family as well. Dream big. Your goals need to be important enough to motivate you on a daily basis.

Whatever your goals are, it is important that you write them down on paper and put them somewhere you can see them. Be specific when goal setting. If you want financial freedom, what’s the exact amount of money you need monthly to do that? Break your goals down into realistic steps that are easier to achieve so you don’t become overwhelmed.

Plan Your Week

Take 20-30 minutes at the beginning of each week and plan your week. I recommend only doing a week at a time, because often trying to plan details beyond a week can become overwhelming. Write down who you plan to talk to this week; how you will contact your prospects; and how you will build new contacts this week, whether it’s on social media sites or local events. If you’re marketing online, what strategy will you focus on this week, what outcome do you want from it, and what specifically will you commit to do to accomplish it?

Don’t try separate life and business when making a plan. I have found that when I take into account my household and motherly duties when planning my business activities, I can be more effective. For example, while my daughter is in dance, I have planning time scheduled for my marketing campaign. I make topic lists for articles and write out my bullet points. Planning your week ahead of time can help you stay focused when facing the distractions of a life with children.

Build Relationships

This is one of the most important aspects of being successful in network marketing. I’m sure you’ve heard the line that “people join people not companies”. This is often preached by attraction marketing campaigns, but it does not mean that you need to be a network marketing guru. What it does mean is that people join people with whom they have a trusting relationship.

With that said, I don’t necessarily believe you should be chasing friends and family to join a business when they aren’t even open or looking to do something else. I do believe that you should be building relationships with people and that if you are focused on those relationships, you will find those who are open much more easily approachable and willing to join you.

This is especially important when using the internet to build your contacts. Build relationships with the people you meet on social media…don’t just promote your business. If you’re building a list, offer your subscribers over the top value without asking for things in return. This will build trust with your readers and they will become more open to your primary business opportunity.

Have a Work Space

As a mom, it can be difficult to have a place all your own, but it can make a difference when building a business in your home. If you have office space, use it, but if you don’t, try to find a spot in your house that is specific to your work. This will help you focus on work while giving you a sense of professionalism. This is important because if you will produce what you feel.

Also, be sure to have space to organize your work. Organize your contacts, prospect information, trainings, schedules, etc. so that they are easy to find. This will alleviate unnecessary stress and will encourage a higher level of efficiency and productivity.
