Tree maintenance is not only necessary to sustain a healthy environment but also to maintain the beauty of your landscape. Trees require proper care for their healthy growth. 

According to research, there is a huge decline of 60% in tree growth. There are several reasons behind this huge decline in trees. One of these reasons is the mismanagement of the trees. People don’t know how they can manage trees in their landscape. 

Here are some tips to make your landscape beautiful by properly managing the trees: 

1. Watering 

You have to care for the quantity and timing of the watering. The quantity of water depends upon the type and size of the trees. Some plants require more water for proper growth. However, some plants can survive on a small amount of water. 

Here are some tips for watering the plant properly: 

• Water only when the upper surface is dehydrated. 
• The quantity of water should be enough to moisturize about 8 inches of deep soil. 
• Don’t water in the middle of the day. Water in the morning or afternoon.

2. Pruning the Trees 

Pruning of the trees is essential not only for maintaining proper shape but also for proper growth. There are several techniques for pruning, depending on the tree’s size, shape, and placement. Moreover, several companies are providing commercial tree maintenance services.  You can appoint them to prune and shape the trees according to the landscape. 

3. Spacing of Trees 

You can research the proper spacing of the trees, or you can ask any architect for guidance. When spacing the trees, you have to consider the following factors: 

• Will these trees produce debris of leaves?
• Will the leaves or branches hang over the sidewalks? 
• Are they shady or fruit trees? 
• What type of roots do these plants have? 
• Do these plants need regular pruning?

Moreover, there are specific rules and regulations for spacing in some states. The general rule for spacing the trees with 12 feet height is to place them after every 6 to 8 feet radius. 

4. Dealing with Dead Trees

Trees can die due to several reasons, such as storms, earthquakes, and flashes of lightning. They will give a very bag impression on the entire landscape. Moreover, by removing these plants, you can plant new trees in their place. So, you should ask any tree removal team to remove the dead tree immediately. 

5. Fertilizing the Trees

Fertilizers play a significant role in proper growth of a tree. These are required not only to enhance the growth rate but also to protect plants from several diseases. 

Some fertilizers are applied during the early stages of growth to address nutrient deficiencies. On the other hand, some fertilizers are applied in the form of spray on the leaves and shrubs to protect them from different insects and pests. 

You should choose fertilizers that release nitrogen quickly for shrubs or small trees. However, for long woody trees, slow nitrogen-releasing fertilizers are best. They will take time to dissolve the chemicals in the soil. In this way, their effects can last for a longer period.
